PACS Systems- Perfect Solution in Medical Imaging

The usage of PACS (picture archiving and communication system), which is a useful combo of hardware and software, has become very common in hospitals.?? It is one of latest technologies used for retrieval, management, distribution and presentation of images. It helps medical professionals to replace hard film compiles with the digital images so that they can be seen at any point of time. PACS systems are widely utilized by healthcare providers to improve the results in medical imaging. They allow users to interface with imaging devices like X-Ray, CTScan, MRI, ultrasound etc. to take images in a digital format.

??

With the help of PACS systems, the captured images can b stored, manipulated and later on transmitted over to computer networks.?? Along with PACS, hospitals are also using RIS to capture patient demographic and examine orders (digital exams). Once e information is captured through RIS, the authorized health care service provider in Medical Imaging Department can utilize this information to schedule and complete the exam.?? After the exams are completed, the authorized radiologist interprets them and the results are recorded in RIS. ??Radiology Information System interfaces with PACS component, link images from study and the interpreted results are made available to physicians.
