6 Tips To Avoid Committing Errors In Medical Transcription

Why is accuracy important along with productivity, when you’re in medical transcription? Just imagine if you have misspelled some words, such as “live” when you mean “liver” or “lie.” It will not only confuse the health care provider or the patient, but it will also cause misinterpretation or even transmission of false information.

Worse, your integrity may be questioned. It could mean that you have allowed somebody to tamper with the documents, causing the errors. It will also say a lot of how you work. A lot of errors mean you lack attention to detail and discipline into your job.

Simply put, there are many huge repercussions. That’s why to avoid these mistakes, learn these six simple steps:

Make sure you can hear well. In medical transcription, you will be sent with audio files. Sometimes the health care provider will dictate the words in the phone. Either way, you have to make sure that you can hear every word that is being spoken. If not, you could ask the person to adjust his or her voice, or you can get yourself a much better headset.
